😎☀️From Data Viz to Junk Art - A Summer of Exploration at RCYF

This summer was amazing at River City Youth Foundation! For seven action-packed weeks, we took learning and fun to the next level. Each week had a cool theme that focused on careers, tech, communication, science, and more.

One of the best parts? The field trips! We kicked off the summer by hitting the University of Texas (UT) VisLab, where campers got to geek out over some seriously mind-blowing data visualization. Then, we met the legendary owner of Austin’s quirky Cathedral of Junk. You have to see this place to believe it! But we didn't stop there.

The Toyota Manufacturing facility in San Antonio gave us an insider’s look at how trucks are made—robot arms, assembly lines, the works. Super cool!

For our outdoor adventurers, Candlelight Ranch in Marble Falls was the ultimate playground. Our campers conquered ziplining, rock climbing, and archery like pros. Nothing like that rush of soaring through the trees or hitting the bullseye in archery!

Every week brought new challenges and opportunities to grow, whether it was discovering new career paths, getting tech-savvy, or expressing themselves through art and music.

And we can’t forget about graduation week—it was a celebration of everything they learned, with some major camp-wide shout-outs to our awesome staff!

RCYF students made so many new friends, tried out new experiences, and walked away with memories that’ll last forever. Summer at River City Youth wasn’t just fun; it was unforgettable!
